Bill's Interview with
Quincy Jones

"... 'Q' one of my favorites. He and I have known each other since I worked as executive in charge of production for the pilot of Jesse Jackson's 'Voices of America.' I remember meetings at his house, Q had a clothing stylist and he was wearing a lot of plum colored shirts and looked sharp. He had just released a new CD, 'Back on the Block.' and I still have the autographed copy he gave me. He loves food and wine, so he was a natural for a meal together. (Although the last time we were together, when we were both speaking at a convention in Washington, he told me he stopped drinking wine and felt mentally sharper for it) He's such a great story teller, that it was exceedingly difficult to edit his sweeping anecdotes into the sound bite format that the show required at the time.My most memorable question was, 'Does Michael Jackson still have a music constituency?' This was about 1999 and scandals were abounding...see what he says." —Bill Boggs
