Behind the Scenes: "Redd Foxx: From X-rated comic to Junk Dealer. Redd will always be remembered for what he did so uniquely with 'Sanford and Son,' but it is important to remember that that extra 'x' in his name is a reminder of his quite bawdy days as a club circuit comic. Look for a book out soon by Michael Starr of the New York Post on Redd Foxx. He was as cool and laid back as any jazz musician you could put in the talk show guest chair, and clearly happy to have achieved great fame much later in life and career than many think possible. Of note in this interview was my asking him to do the 'Fred Sanford Walk.' I always loved the heavy way his character shuffled and he closes this segment walking off camera in character.
